Good clean fun (for the most part).

These guys don't so much release videos, as filmic "events".

Not sure I could tell you what any of their songs sound like, but I do enjoy the videos, and it's apparent that they enjoy making them, so it's win-win.

This one has been around for a few years, but it's worth noting.

The Route V50 is one of a series of short film advertisements for the Volvo brand. It's directed by Stephen Frears and stars a few Robert Downey Jr's. (the only thing better than one RDJ, would have to be several RDJ's, IMO). Surreal, smart and fun.

My-oh-my. Things have been busy around here at chez B the last little while. How've you all been?

Listen, I feel just awful for abandoning all of you - my, um, imaginary readers, so I'm about to make it up to you Big Time with a hot cocoa recipe that is to-die-for and pretty healthy, at the same time! Here t'is…

Coconut Hot Cocoa

Ingredients (makes 2 mugs):

3 heaping Tablespoons cocoa powder

2-4 Tablespoons of raw sugar (or brown sugar, or honey) to taste

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups water

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Directions: 1. Combine cocoa, sugar and salt in a small saucepan. Add a few tablespoons of water and stir until cocoa mixture is a smooth, non-lumpy, syrup; Add the rest of the water to mixture and heat over medium heat until boiling. Cook for two minutes.

2. Stir in coconut milk and remove from heat. Add vanilla and almond extract and mix well.

If you're not big on coconut (weirdo) or if you have food/nut allergies, you can substitute the almond, vanilla and coconut with rice milk. I haven't tried it, and it sounds kinda sad compared to the original recipe, but I'm sure somebody out there (who's also not reading this) will enjoy it nearly as much.

Oh, and I just had another thought… Rum!! I don't have any around here at the moment (and if I did, this post would probably never have been written), but I bet this beverage would taste GREAT with rum!

Enjoy!
