Another Music Video. This time, an interactive film created by Champagne Valentine (Nexus Productions), for Placebo's The Never-Ending Why.

From Champagne Valentine's case study synopsis: "Champagne Valentine’s multi-sensory experience takes the viewer through an interactive gothic landscape full of shadows, monsters and psychedelic splashes of colour.

Internet users can immerse themselves within this world by moving their mouse over the video as the song plays, becoming fully involved with the images presented to them."

Oh yeah, and the song's good, too.

Bite Me

I like my vamps lethal. And scary. And ok, a little sexy too, but the recent spate of films and tv shows portraying vampires as prom dates and objects of teen lust has left me colder than a blood-drained corpse.

Daybreakers looks really promising however, and has a great cast. It opens January 8th in North America and if you haven't heard of it, check out the terrific trailer (click the image below) - and keep watching, even after you think it's futzed...

now that's a vampire!

Okay, the high drama of the 2009 Tour de France is over and while I managed to refrain from using Little Black Blog as a forum for venting, I couldn't resist this parting glance at an ad from 1st Endurance that was published in ROAD Magazine, featuring Team Astana and their naked buddy. Yep. Their naked buddy... If you don't believe me, have a look.

First the ad, and then a detail from said ad...

This one comes with a tip of the hat to @frankadman for posting this great ad from 1963 to his Tumblr blog  Talking To Strangers. Tumblr, are you on Tumblr yet?

Here at Little Black Blog we lo-o-o-ve coffee. And great design. So just imagine the heart palpitations when you combine the two! Earlier this month Webdesigner Depot did just that, with this compilation of  "50 Beautifully Delicious Coffee Designs". Enjoy!...

I love graphic design that predates the camera. Makes the simple poster feel like "Art". Here's a great example from Color + Design blog, a series of circus ads/posters.

Four new Mac ads launched yesterday. It's amusing to note that Apple's response to Microsoft's recent, relentless attack ads has been no response at all. In fact Apple continues to push the same message, which Microsoft has steadfastly avoided addressing in their ads - that Macs provide a better, more reliable user experience. And while three years may seem like a long run for a single-message concept, the ads are still fun, and funny.

Ever since I read about Tim Roth and Gary Oldman writing sexy messages to each other on various magazine covers, I've been in love with the idea of brands communicating with each other in advertising. Audi and BMW are the latest to do so, and for that they get inclusion in Little Black Blog's "Great Creative", the pantheon of kickass creative. Here's the outdoor campaign.
